About us

What is Burns Road?

Burns Road is a legendary street in Karachi known for its bold, authentic street-food flavors. Anyone who has been there knows exactly what it’s all about, the aroma of fresh BBQ, the sizzle of kababs on the grill, the rich spices in the air, and the late-night energy that brings the whole street to life. We wanted to bring that same experience to Toronto.

How It All Started

Syed has spent over 10 years running different restaurants in Canada, from crispy chicken spots to burger joints — but something was always missing.

“The true taste of Karachi street food”

Determined to bring that authenticity to Canada, Syed travelled back to Karachi with only one purpose:

to perfect the recipes and learn the real flavours of Karachi.

He met with chefs, spoke to cooking experts, learned traditional techniques, and fully immersed himself in Karachi’s vibrant food culture. For 10 months, he trained, experimented, refined, and committed himself to creating the best possible product.

When he returned to Canada, he took the leap and opened our first location in Ajax in March 2025, bringing the unmistakable taste of Karachi street food to the GTA.

Our Customers Loved it!

The response was unbelievable, far better than anything Syed had experienced before. On opening day, the line was out the door. People drove from all over the GTA to try our food, and the feedback was truly heartwarming. Customers absolutely loved it, and the kitchen was buzzing non-stop from the moment we opened.

Food is Syed’s Passion

Syed’s passion for food goes into every single dish. He spends hours perfecting recipes, testing flavours, adjusting textures, and refining every detail long before a menu item reaches our customers. Nothing goes on the menu unless he’s proud of it.

A Word from Syed...

“Every item on our menu has gone through days and sometimes weeks of trial and error in my kitchen. I don’t serve anything until it feels perfect. My goal has always been to bring the true taste of Karachi to our community here.

I’m incredibly grateful for your support, and I can’t wait to continue serving customers all across the GTA.

Thank you for believing in us and for making this journey so special

BURNS ROAD KARACHI

TRADITION MEETS MODERN FLAVOURS

Burns Road (also spelled “Burnes Road”) is located near M.A. Jinnah Road in central Karachi, not far from Saddar and the historic areas of the city. Named after British doctor James Burnes during colonial times, the road has transformed from a residential-commercial strip into one of Pakistan’s most famous food streets, known for serving traditional cuisine that dates back several generations.

It has been a food hub since the early 1950s, particularly after the Partition, when many families from India migrated and brought with them diverse culinary traditions. These communities settled in Karachi and set up small eateries on Burns Road, many of which are now multi-generational businesses.

KARACHI STYLE PIZZA

Karachi-style pizza is a bold fusion of traditional Italian pizza and Pakistani street food flavors. It features a soft, thick, and fluffy crust often compared to naan or pan pizza and is sometimes brushed with garlic butter or sprinkled with herbs and chili flakes. Instead of the classic tomato sauce, it uses spicy alternatives like chili garlic sauce or masala ketchup for a tangy, fiery base. Toppings are loaded and desi, including chicken tikka, seekh kabab, beef boti, and other BBQ-style meats. Crunchy vegetables like onions, capsicum, and green chilies add texture and extra heat. Cheese is used generously, with gooey mozzarella often combined with sharp cheddar for extra flavor. The overall taste is rich, smoky, and intensely spiced, delivering a true Karachi kick in every bite. It’s commonly served with garlic mayo, spicy ketchup, and green chutney on the side. Every element is turned up a notch—more spice, more cheese, more flavor. Karachi-style pizza isn’t subtle; it’s bold, loaded, and unapologetically desi.

Karachi Style BBQ

It is intensely spiced, deeply marinated, and flame-grilled over open charcoal, drawing influences from Mughlai, Punjabi, and Bohra cuisines. Unlike the milder BBQs found elsewhere, Karachi BBQ is fiery, tangy, and full of attitude a true reflection of the city’s fast-paced and diverse spirit.

Whether it’s served at upscale restaurants, roadside dhabas, or iconic food streets like Burns Road, Karachi BBQ is all about flavor-packed meat with a perfect char and juicy center.
